Blog: Complacency, Acquiescence and Low Uncertainty
Low risk may not mean low uncertainty.

Many analysts are saying that market participants are acting complacent coming into the July 9th tariff deadline. Few trade "deals" have been announced by the administration. Those that have are guidelines for a deal rather than a signed agreement. The President has threatened 70% tariffs on those markets, like the EU and Japan, who have not "made a deal." Inflation is expected to rise because of US trade policy.
Yet, virtually all risk sentiment indicators are falling. The stock markets, both in the US and abroad, are hitting new highs.
